I love my Roomba vacuum! We love our Roomba. The best gift I have aver received. I feel so liberated.

I love her! Emma runs every day. She does get stuck or runs out of energy mid-house, but it really does not matter. If she makes it back to the charger, she starts up again when she is charged. If she gets stuck, pick her up and place her on the charger (if necessary) and she starts again later. Although the bin is rather small, it has not been a problem. Even though she runs every day she continues to pick up a ton of stuff. One would think that the amount would decrease significantly after a few days, but . . . . . Considering that we are not home during the day, and do not track in much, it is surprising that the bin is full at least once a day, sometimes twice. We do have a small short-haired dog who sheds quite a bit. The vacuum is not loud at all. When I am home, I notice it starting, but I soon forget about it if I am doing something else. Our dog is rather high-strung, but after the first day, she has been fine with the vacuum. I have a product idea I would like to share, if iRobot is interested. 😉

Good to for daily cleaning…When it doesn’t get stuck. We normally use Jeeves to keep the pet hair and dirt under control, with them running in-and-out to the yard, to our active family tracking dirt into the foyer. It’s done a great job for the most part, the only real dislike would be it repeatedly covering areas it’s gone over 3-4 times, making the cleaning process take extra long; with how loud it is that is not a pleasant 1-1.5 hrs. We try to let it run while we’re gone, but it gets stuck A LOT, under cabinet edges, it pulls up throw rugs when transitioning from tile to carpet, if it goes under furniture it sometimes gets stuck on power cords, so typically we have cancel the job via phone and have to restart it when we get home. Large objects it will go around, but if something is left on the floor that could get sucked up it will get stuck, so absolutely nothing can be left on the floor – a good thing, to a certain point. Still, we enjoy out Roomba. It saves us a ton of time spent sweeping daily.

Cheaper than a person but more upkeep than our kids. I’ll introduce you to my mischevious house cleaner, Sir Roosevelt. He gets stuck on rugs, pieces of paper, markers, or stuffed animals at every chance. In his most impressive feat, unrolled an entire roll of dental floss that was left on the floor by my 4 year old (separate issue) and winding it so tightly around his left wheel that the wheel backed off of the axle and stopped only because if reached the edge of the wheel housing and would not rotate. The wheel was completely immobile. Impressive really that it could get wound so tightly. About 30 minutes, 4 spare screws, and a few touch and go minutes with gears strewn about, the floss was unwound from his wheel and he was back on his way. He does maintenance cleaning well so I guess he’s worth the adoption fee. He just better start getting his chores done without crying out for attention. I’m stuck, I’m lost, someone closed he door behind be, I sucked an entire roll of dental floss into my wheel and can’t move…. *sigh*

After one month, I’m still loving my Roomba 980. I’ve owned many Roombas/Scoobas over the years and have thrown them all out. I was so tired of buying new batteries; calling tech help; cleaning the brushes constantly; removing and cleaning different parts; and on and on….So, I was reluctant to try another. But my new Golden Retriever was shedding all over my beautiful new house and I was not happy having to sweep and vacuum every day. I bought the expensive 980 and I’m so glad I did. It works beyond all my expectations. I do run it every day and I’m shocked at how much fur and dust it picks up. And I thought my house was always sparkling clean, but Roomba showed me otherwise. It’s easy to maintain, holds quite a bit of dirt in the bin, and the rubber rollers are terrific. One downer is that it does make a lot of noise, but taking into consideration all that it does, I let my Roomba scream as much as it wants. Dog and cat are finally bored of the Roomba and leave it alone.

I have wanted a Roomba since they first came out, but could never justify the price especially for something I thought would most likely only do a fair job at best. I am absolutely shocked at how well it cleans! My floors look spotless (both carpeted areas and bare floors). It works perfectly. Runs automatically according to the schedule I have set (9:00 am daily), always finds its way back home to recharge, and then automatically resumes the job (if necessary) when charged up again (goes to the exact spot where it left off). It has not gotten tangled or stuck on anything. The amount of dirt and dust in the bin is shocking really. I had vacuumed my floors two days before setting up the Roomba and what the machine picked up even after I had thoroughly vacuumed just floored me (and I have a fairly new Electrolux canister vacuum). I can tell you it was NOT just picking up loose carpet fibers, but ugly, gray, dirty, dusty junk! I love that it cleans under beds and furniture that wouldn’t normally be reached with my regular vacuum. Seriously, how many people normally vacuum completely and thoroughly ALL the way under the bed?

The app works perfectly and there is a care section that lets you know when to perform regular maintenance (with instructional videos within the app…love those). These things are SUPER easy to do and not a nuisance at all (like it is with my regular vac). The entire Roomba is a pleasure…from cleaning ability, functionality and maintenance. Can one be in love with a vacuum?

There is no doubt that I will be purchasing another one for use on our second floor! Obviously, I still need a “regular” vacuum for the tops of baseboards and other small areas around the house, but the fact that the Roomba completely cleans just about every place on the floor is amazing. Honestly, I never thought it would clean so well. I love waking up to a freshly vacuumed house. No more crumbs under the kitchen table and along the toe kicks in the kitchen. My floor is spotless every single day with ZERO effort from me!

Awesome vacuum! I LOVE this vacuum! It is faster and better than I thought it would be. It goes along pretty fast and it goes quite awhile on a charge. I would say over an hour. It does better than I thought it would in corners too! It has a little thing that kind of reaches out to get a bit further reach for the corners. It goes around furniture and other obstacles very well. It also goes over different surfaces well. I have carpet and linoleum on one floor that I let it go around and it doesn’t have any trouble going back and forth over them. It picks up stuff quite easily like popcorn and pennies (that was an accident that I found when I emptied it). It is not very heavy and is super easy to operate. It seems very well made and durable. I actually think it does a better job than my regular vacuum at cleaning! Now, the cons…It has a small “dirt tray” that I have found needs to be emptied after every room. Not a big deal and easy to do but it is about 7″ x 2″. Also the filter needs to be cleaned after every room, again not a big deal but you either need to vacuum it out or blow it out with compressed air. I have only had this about a week but have used it every day because it is so easy (and entertaining to watch). It may not plug up the filter so much after a few times in each room because as I said I think it is cleaning better than my regular vacuum. It does not come with the “virtual wall”, you can use it without, you just have to build a wall for it not to escape.

Easy Clean. I love the timer on this! You can schedule days & times for it to run. I can come home from work & my floors are clean! Just make sure to empty the trash bin & clean rollers regularly. Do not leave pet bowls or loose socks in reach. This would also be great for the elderly or disabled. You can purchase a remote control separately. I love this vacuum! It gets under the bed, table & chairs.

Very cool hi-tech cleaning gadget. This vacuum arrived wonderfully packaged. Very easy to set up on a dock for charging and easy to program from the manual to figuring it out on your own. It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be and I was able to program a daily cleaning schedule. It is quite noisy while cleaning but I guess a regular vacuum is louder. The iRobot does indicate when the canister needs to be cleaned and after you change it, the vacuum continues. Once it is done cleaning , the vacuum returns to its dock .

Great for the busy professional. This Roomba 801 vacuum is a lifesaver. It picks up most dirt and hair. If you have animals in the home with hair collecting every day, you will understand how much of a relief it is to not have to sweep every day. It will not pick up large objects so you have to be mindful of that. It is programmable so that you can set it to vacuum at a specific time on specific days or have it on a frequency like every other day. It is entirely customizable as you set the time for each individual day, just simply skip over a day to stagger the schedule. You do not even have to be home for it to work. When it is finished the area, it will return back to its dock. I would advise you pick up any rugs and tie up long curtains before it begins. I have all wood floors which it works well on, but I cannot say how it works on carpets. It is very easy to use and is used daily in my home. It is excellent to get underneath heavy pieces of furniture, such as couches, so you do not have to move these heavy items. With an open floor space, it is able to go into other rooms of the house. It also has the option to spot clean the house, which is a quick way to clean the floor if you have guests coming over. You may need to move chairs out of the way. The Roomba is designed so that if it hits something, it will redirect around it. So if you have chairs around a table, it will likely not get all the dirt under the table due to obstacles. But this is no different than if you were sweeping yourself, you would move the chairs to get to the spot.

Pros: Picks up well, convenient, programmable, no batteries,
Cons: does not pick up large items

Great Suction, Long Battery Life. We named our Roomba Chad, and he really sucks. When you’re a vacuum, that is a good thing. He’s excellent at picking up cat litter scatters, cat hair, dust and my long hair that apparently I shed a LOT of. He’s quiet and efficient and we don’t have to feed him. Perfect.

Chad has one problem though. He has a really hard time finding his home to recharge. I’ve watched him bump around for ages looking for it and it’s not hidden. Chad is ‘special’.
    P. S. Cat follows him around “supervising”.

    Pros:
    Good suction –
Holds way more junk than expected –
Easy to clean ‘brushes’ and empty waste bin –
Works well on tile floor, low pile and high pile carpet without adjustment –
Long battery life; runs for over an hour on one charge –
Cleans up against baseboards with spinning brush –
Does not mar floors or baseboards –
    Has a scheduler –
    Makes cute sounds –

    Cons:
Robo voice is too quiet with no volume adjustment option, so if it needs emptying or gets stuck, I can’t hear it stop from the next room over. –
Has issues finding dock so the battery dies before it gets there (dock is not hidden) –

Note: Because of the tendency to need emptying and brush clearing, I would not recommend using the scheduler when you aren’t around to help your Roomba – unless your floors are always 100% clear from cat toys, long hairs, or anything else that it could get stuck on.

The filters have a screen over the filter that makes cleaning the filter easier. The 3 sided brushes and the rollers are an exact match for the original part.
